Introducing DJ Teknikscian...
Before settling down in San Diego, California, this musical maestro spent most of his formative years roaming the better part of the globe. Through Rome and Sicily, Brazil and Little Italy, Japan and NY, Miami and the Chi', DJ Teknikscian grew to love the finer points of art and music. Now armed with these experiences, DJ Teknikscian seeks to infuse soul and culture into his craft, things that not many DJs even dare to touch.

Music is...
The importance of music simply cannot be underestimated and, for DJ Teknikscian, it is an extension of who he is as a person and an artist. Just like his travels, DJ Teknikscian's taste in music crosses many boundaries. Motown and soul, Marvin Gaye and Isaac Hayes, with a touch of Billy Joel, mixed alongside hip-hop's finest -, DJ Teknikscian will nod his head to any and everything.

His craft...
DJ Teknikscian first tried his luck with turntables back at the tender age of 19. His decision came after years spent listening to radio mix shows, attending hip-hop tours, and watching bootleg videos of DMC battles. For him, the ability of DJs to control and influence crowds was a source of envy. He wanted to be more than just a listener. In fact, he wanted people to listen.

After taking various odd jobs throughout high school and the early part of college, DJ Teknikscian finally managed to scrape up enough coins to buy his first set of turntables. With these turntables, he became more than just a man, - he became THE MAN. Friday nights meant mixing sessions and freestyle gatherings, - where mixtapes and intrumentals were the soup du jour, if you will. These gatherings at his abode provided a backdrop for this budding DJ and pushed him to, - in the words of an aspiring emcee at the time, - "make it rain like snow". In other words, "move the crowd, dammit!"

The movement...
Soon after, DJ Teknikscian began to transcend his neighborhood's boundaries. Moving out and performing in San Diego's elite establishments enabled the rest of the city to experience Teknikscian's pulsing, soul-inflected, and five-head nodding sets. Not surprisingly, promoters and venues across Southern California soon began to take notice of this rising star. No longer relegated to just clubs, DJ Teknikscian brought his craft and his style to uber-hip and trendy lounges, afterhour spots, and wait for it concerts.

The movement part deux...
DJ Teknikscian has also dabbled in broadcast media over the past couple of years. Sure mortal DJs can appear in traditional FM radio broadcasts but how many DJs can say that they've done their part to stake claim on the Internet level? Teknikscian is to music what Google is to search. DJ Teknikscian has also helped “co-author” the acclaimed but slept on mixtape series "Solo but not Alone". With the help of one of his partners in rhyme (who shall remain nameless), "Solo but not Alone" has spawned several volumes and will undoubtedly continue as a promotional vehicle for real classy music.

The life...
With his experiences behind him, all helping to guide and drive, DJ Teknikscian knows that he has but a lifetime to make an impact. With this all said, he remains well-rounded and humble, abiding by the motto "Life's about who makes it, not who makes it the fastest."
